We receive a lot of requests every day from self published and independent authors regarding getting their books into the shop.
Due to our small space we have to be very strict about what we can choose to take on. This is currently limited to non-fiction titles with very specific local (St Ives/Penwith) relevance.
Even then we are generally not stocking any new titles directly from authors.
However if you think your book will be a fit, you can always email us with as much information as possible. This should include the basics like a synopsis and cover image, but also the RRP, your trade terms (how much you’re selling the book to retailers), and whether you supply independently or through a wholesaler. It’s also good to know where in the shop you think your book would fit in and any marketing or promotion around it that will benefit your sales.
Please do not send or bring physical copies of your book to the shop for consideration.
If we are in the shop we are on the shopfloor to serve customers, not be put on the spot to judge a book in front of its author!
